Students enrolling in classes for the Fall 2021 semester can expect to receive continuous reopening updates as the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) work to safely allow some classes to be held on-campus.
“We have scheduled some classes for the Fall 2021 semester to be held on-campus, as public health conditions allow. We will still offer a variety of classes in the online-live (online, but with scheduled virtual meeting dates and times) and online modalities,” said Jacquelyn Werner, Associate Dean of Student Services, via email.
CDC and local guidelines will guide the progression of the current reopening plan to ensure the safety of the CCC community.
The current reopening plan is set to allow students to return to in-person learning since the major shift into remote learning in March 2020. Students are already hopeful to attain the benefits of in-person learning which are lacking in remote learning.
“While remote learning allows me to take my classes in a comfortable environment and at my own pace, it does not offer the same platform to make personal connections with my professors and peers,” said Zerdali Jones, a student at CCC. “There is something about learning in the classroom that makes me feel more motivated.”
